The MOD() function in excel helps in returning the remainder when a particular number is divided by a divisor. Let’s now have a look at the examples below for better understanding.
- In the first example, we divided 100 by 8. The remainder is calculated using the function “=MOD(B4,C4)”. The result is stored in D4. We can also directly type “=MOD(100,8)” as it will give the same answer.

- Similarly, here, we have divided 12 by 4. The remainder is 0 is, which is stored in D5.

Syntax of Modulus formula
The syntax of the Modulus function is as follows:
=MOD(number, divisor)
You can also get modulus of values in cells by:
=MOD(C1,D1)
Here you will get modulus value of the cells C1 to D1.
