Understanding SUMIF Formula
The SUMIF function calculates the total number of cells in a range that satisfy a single given condition. We give a certain condition to find the sum of the cells in a range. Let us look at syntax and example to have better understanding.

Syntax of SUMIF formula
The syntax of the SUMIF function is as follows:
=SUMIF (range, criteria, [sum_range])
The first argument(range) specifies the range to which criteria should be applied.
The second argument(criteria) specifies the criteria.
The third argument(sum_range) specifies the range of values to sum.
