Understanding Count Formula
In Excel, we use the COUNT function to count numeric values in a specified range of cells.
Non-numeric values are generally text values, such as apple, building, horse, and so on. We will use the COUNTA function to count all non-numeric values in the range.
Syntax of Count formula
The syntax of the COUNT function is as follows:
=COUNT(value1, [value2], [value3],…)
We can insert a range of cells into the COUNT function, for example:
=COUNT(C2:C5)
The function above will look within the cells in range C2 to C5.
